Welcome
Latest Updates
Alright, finally made the leap into 2012 with this site! It's now upgraded to using HTML5 and CSS3, so if you're having problems viewing the site or if it isn't degrading properly, you may want to upgrade your browser.
Jan. 31, 2012 - Video update! I've corrected the problem and most videos should be working properly for Chrome, FireFox and IE9. Please contact me if you're still having issues viewing the videos. Please note that there is no video support for IE6 and I'm adding the QuickTime versions for Iphone and Ipad shortly.
Jan. 26, 2012 - Ok, figured out the problem I'm having with the videos. Seems my copy of MIRO Video Converter isn't properly formatting the OGG or WEBM files properly. Until I can reformat the videos, please use Google Chrome to view them or in FireFox right click the video area and save the videos to watch them locally. I'll post again once it's resolved.
Thanks
Brad
Jan. 22, 2012 - Back in Canada... it's pretty cold here. Just got in from Playa Del Carmen in Mexico! Had a blast! New photos have been added and more are coming sortly.
About Me
My name is Brad Taylor (obviously) and I'm an avid Traveler, Web Designer/Developer, Toronto FC supporter and PhotoShop addict.
Just as a preface to the content in this site, the articles and photos are mainly to remind myself of where I've been and what I've done. If the articles or photo's can provide inspiration to others, that's a nice perk too!
I've been to eleven countries over the last five years and have many more destinations in mind. My next trip is going to be another GAP trip, this time I'll be going from Beijing to Bankok! If you're interested in where I've been and what I've been lucky enough to see, please see the travel articles, photos and videos.
If you've been somewhere I have, or have a destination suggestion for me, sign up on the discussion boards and let me know!
Cheers and enjoy my site.

| Grass Roots: Harnessing the Power of Bamboo in Nicaragua Jan Van Bilsen first got the idea for his company after visiting Colombia. There, he saw elegant homes of two, three and even four storeys—all made from bamboo. How is this possible, he wondered? Turns out, with a little knowledge and practice, constructing with bamboo is relatively easy. Bamboo is also much cheaper than wood, which may explain why it’s used in developing countries for all types of constructions—homes, bridges, furniture, tools. Van Bilsen, a Belgian who has lived in Nicaragua for 25 years, was so awestruck that he founded BambuCasa, a small, for-profit company that harvests the timber-like bamboo and sells it for housing across Nicaragua. |
